War Memorials

Both the War Memorials in Edlesborough and Dagnall were refurbished in time for the Remembrance Service in November and the contractor has been thanked for the amazing improvement to the Edlesborough Memorial. Unfortunately due to the original lettering on the Dagnall Memorial containing lead this has resulted in a few light red marks appearing but the Contractor will continue to endeavour to rectify the problem.

Edlesborough Memorial Hall

Quotations being requested for the re-decorating of the toilets and the replacement of existing light fittings.

Vandalism

Chewing gum and super glue have recently been inserted into the key hole of the Pavilion door.

Cemetery

An up to date copy of the Rules and Regulations regarding burials and memorials has been placed on the Cemetery notice board.

Street Lighting

Contractors currently waiting for Permit to carry out connection to the light on Main Road South, Dagnall. Would parishioners please note that if they wish to report a malfunctioning streetlight within the Parish this must be reported to the Clerk and not to AVDC or Bucks CC.

Edlesborough main sewer

Anglian Water have recently carried out maintenance work and this will in done on an annual basis.

Proposal to extend Pebblemoor Car Park

A number of details still have to be resolved to ensure that the Council arrive at the best possible outcome for the benefit of the majority of parishioners. Once completed the Council will draw up detailed plans so that it can consult with all parishioners and consider any feedback/suggestions/objections etc. before deciding whether or not to go ahead with the project.

Litter Pickers

Would anyone willing to help with the litter picking particularly around the Green and Pavilion area please contact the Clerk. This is carried out on a voluntary basis by only one or two dedicated parishioners who would appreciate extra help.

Thames Valley Police - Information for parishioners

Thames Valley Police new national single non-emergency number as from 14th November 2011 will be 101 which will replace the 0845 8 505 505 number. Both numbers will run side by side until the end of March but if the demand for the 0845 8 505 505 number drops it may be discontinued earlier. If a call is made to 101 within a force area that has not yet 'gone live' the caller will hear a recorded message telling them to redial using the relevant non-emergency number. In an extreme emergency the 999 number should be used.
