Advice from Bucks CC - snow clearance

Do not use hot water as snow could be replaced with black ice increasing the risk of injury.

Use sand or ash as a salt substitute should salt supplies run out.

When shovelling snow be careful not to block residents paths or drainage channels,

Be a "good neighbour" by clearing snow for those people who may be unable to do so themselves.

Warning!

Several energy companies use a password security system which is available to domestic customers who can register a password against their account. Anyone claiming to be from your energy company, reading meters etc. can then be asked for this password to confirm they are genuine. If they are not able to give you the password, do not allow them access to your property. Contact your individual companies to find out if they operate such a system - the numbers will be available from your energy bills.
