The Basketball Goal has now been installed on The Green at Edlesborough much to the delight of the youth of the village. A playing surface will be constructed in due course and a replacement practice goal which had to be removed to accommodate a further junior football pitch will be in situ shortly.

The Annual Return for the year ended 31st March 2006 has been officially approved and signed.

PCSO Jackie Dobson has been making her presence felt around the Parish and is conscientiously dealing with problems encountered such as human faeces at rear of Edlesborough Memorial Hall and evidence of further drugs, together with traffic problems.

As from 1st October 2006 the Edlesborough Parish Council Cemetery will become a Lawn Cemetery as originally intended and all planting, edgings etc. will be removed. Site meetings are due to take place with the prospect of achieving a more satisfactory access to the Cemetery not only for mourners and visitors but also for the Funeral Directors and contractors who are having, at the moment, to negotiate a very precarious route to reach the cemetery area.

The allotment rents will be collected on 14th October at Edlesborough Memorial Hall 9.30 – 12noon for Edlesborough and Northall Allotments and on Sunday 15th October at Dagnall.

The Parish Council apologise for the delay in setting up a meeting to discuss the Parish Plan, it is now anticipated that this will take place in November and those who have already shown an interest will be invited to attend.

The Parish Council have approved estimates for the Edlesborough Memorial Hall floor to be replaced together with external decoration and a survey is being carried out in Northall as to whether the residents require more streetlighting along the A4146 Leighton Road.

Members of the Parish Council have attended Neighbourhood Action Group meetings which are held jointly with the Parishes and Police in order that they may work together and discuss any concerns.

It has become apparent that grass cuttings are accumulating by the perimeter hedges of The Green at Edlesborough which causes problems when strimming this area and it is requested that neighbouring residents’ lawn cuttings be placed in the Green Sacks which can be purchased from the Parish Council and will be taken away with the weekly refuse collection.

Revised timetables for Buses from Dagnall to Dunstable, Leighton Buzzard and Hemel Hempstead have been received and the Parish Council would apologise for the error in times mentioned in the last edition of Focus.

  • No. 171 to Leighton Buzzard:
    • Tuesday: Leaves Dagnall 10.20am, Leaves Leighton Buzzard 13.10pm
    • Saturday: Leaves Dagnall 10.20am, Leaves Leighton Buzzard 13.40pm
  • No. 172 to Dunstable:
    • Wednesday only: Leaves Dagnall 9.25am, Leaves West Street, Dunstable 11.40am
  • No. 175 to Hemel Hempstead:
  • Thursdays only: Leaves Dagnall 9.50am, Leaves Hemel Hempstead Bus Station at 1.20pm
