Reports from the July 2006 General Purpose Committee Meeting and full Parish Council Meeting.

Various issues had arisen from recent Health & Safety reports received by the Parish Council and Edlesborough Under 5's and a joint amicable meeting was held to discuss same. The Parish Council agreed to investigate the possibility of fencing off the grass area between the Memorial Hall and the Scout Hut to allow the Under 5's to use this space for outdoor activities.

Difficulty was arising in obtaining sufficient quotations for various works to be carried out and the Parish Council agreed to revert to the Standing Orders regarding the amount of quotations required.

In an attempt to improve Traffic Calming an agreement was reached by the Parish Council on the number of yellow backed signs and roundels to be installed throughout the villages and an order has been placed with Bucks. CC.

Regrettably a long established Horse Chestnut tree on The Green had become diseased resulting in it being a danger to the public and would be felled, the Parish Council intend to plant a replacement tree at an appropriate time.

The order has been placed for the installation of a Basketball Goal on Edlesborough Green and for a smaller second Junior Football pitch. The existing practice goal will be removed and a removeable, lockable replacement positioned on the smaller pitch in due course. A request for 'The Bell' Football team to play matches on The Green alternating with Edlesborough 94FC has been approved.

The Annual Return for the year ended 31st March 2006 has been agreed by the Internal Auditors and is currently awaiting agreement by the External Auditors.

A slight diversion of footpath No. 18 has been approved.

Councillors will be attending a meeting with Bucks CC to discuss outstanding issues within the Parish.

Amendments to two Section 106 agreements at Beacon View and Knolls View, Northall are being discussed with the relevant authorities and developers.

Edlesborough School in conjunction with Safer Routes to School are endeavouring the establish 'crocodile routes' to get children to and from School safety and the Parish Council will be investigating the road parking problems outside the school.

The new Edlesborough sign has been erected on the boundary between Eaton Bray and Edlesborough.

Archealogical tests are being carried out at Edlesborough Churchyard as the basis of a full report and costs involved to be made available for improving the access to the Cemetery.

A Parish Plan meeting will be held in September and those who wished to attend will be written to as soon as a definite date has been agreed with Bucks Community Action.

PCSO Jackie Dodson is now on duty throughout the Parish and parishioners are asked to report anything suspicious or are welcome to 'have a chat'. The Parish Council were sorry to be informed that PC Robert Barker will be retiring in September, his patrolling of the Parish over the past 12 months has been invaluable in reducing the problems that were occurring.

The Parish Nurse Charity/Burghope Trust

The purpose of these charities is to help the 'sick and infirm' of parishioners residing in the Parish of Edlesborough.

Any parishioner seeking help from either of these charities can telephone the Clerk for further details.

Requests for allotments are becoming popular and all allotment holders in the Parish are asked to please inform the Clerk if you intend giving up your allotment, an allotment should not be passed over to someone else without prior permission of the Parish Council.

The Parish Council would apologise to all Parishioners who visit the Parish website. Unfortunately since February problems have occurred with the Server which hopefully has now been rectified and all up to date information is now available.
